Description

NCO is moving apace in the implementation of a creative, effective communications strategy to drive and underpin our renewed organisational vision.

Simply put, we are working hard to tell more people about the brilliant work NCO does, alongside identifying more young people to participate in our programmes and even more people to champion and support what we do.

Our Communications Director determines the strategy to deliver these objectives.

Our Communications Manager puts that strategy into practice leading on areas including concert marketing, member communications, evaluation, and management of NCO's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

The new Communications Administrator will play a crucial part through day-to-day communications and marketing activity and processes that underpin the success of the Communications Team.

Key responsibilities

Marketing

  • Daytoday management of NCO's social media accounts including organic and paid content creation, in line with the Communication Manager's planning and the Communications strategy. This includes presence at all NCO activities (including at weekends and during school holidays) to create content that enables and showcases children's voices.
  • Drafting, designing and analysing NCO enewsletters in MailChimp, to a content plan set by the Communications Manager
  • Contributing to the copywriting, design, research and distribution of a wide range of communications assets as part of the Communications Team; playing an active role in the promotion of NCO and its programme of activity.
  • Meticulous proofreading and review of a broad range of communications

Member Communications

  • Drafting and coordinating regular communications to members, including mail merging.
  • Coordinating the content and design (sometimes print) of regular organisational publications and documents including concert programmes, Member and Audition Handbooks and photo sales catalogues
  • Regular updating of NCO's log in only Member Website including creating and uploading documents and resources, populating the gallery and user log in administration.

Data and Evaluation

  • Supporting the Communications Manager to keep our CRM system data clean and processes efficient, including deduplication, testing, form building and regular Mailchimp exports.
  • Supporting the Communications Director with regular maintenance and deletion of data in accordance with GDPR through NCO's privacy policies.
  • Support the Communications Manager with the running and reporting of evaluation exercises with all NCO stakeholders, including presence at activity and data entry.
  • Supporting the collection and onwards administration of stories into NCO's Music Matters Storybank.

Brand and Profile

  • Working with the rest of the Communications team to keep information on NCO's external facing website accurate, uptodate and responsive.
  • As a brand guardian: championing NCO and supporting other team members and external partners to ensure our voice and identity are represented faithfully and creatively in order to further the organisation's impact.
  • Proactively creating content and seeking opportunities to tell NCO's story and the impact of our work, to drive awareness and engagement with our charity.
  • Proactively organising and managing NCO's visual assets, including professional and inhouse photo/content database and Canva profile and organising/archiving material in our internal folders.
  • Supporting key stakeholder events (e.g. press or supporter functions at NCO concerts)

Other

  • Additional administrative duties, including research and supporting fundraising appeals, to support the Chief Executive and other NCO teams as required and as part of your development.
