The role:

All of Scotland's businesses need access to high quality research on a variety of topics. To reduce risk and increase their chances of success, you'll help companies find and validate key opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Raising the profile of research as a resource by participating in a range of promotional activities.
  • Working in compliance with all relevant legislation, such as copyright, intellectual property, and data protection.

Who we're looking for:

You should have an enquiring mind, and ideally experience working in a library or information management setting. You'll have flawless writing skills and see complex research requests as a challenge to be solved. You're also happy working across a wide range of information resources and tools.

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

  • Being customer focused with confidence, and aware of which questions get to the heart of the customer need.
  • Strong research skills, including knowledge of research tools and techniques.
  • Wellversed in evaluating resources and presenting the results in a way that suits your customer.
  • Educated to SCQF Level 8, or have relevant skills and experience in a research, information management, or library environment.

Ideally, but not essentially, you'll also have:

  • Experience researching business topics and writing for business audiences.

What we offer:

If successful, you'll gain access to the following benefits:

  • Membership of the Scottish Enterprise Pension and Life Assurance Scheme
  • pension based on your final pensionable salary, flexible retirement options and generous life assurance cover
  • Up to 43 annual leave days a year (including public holidays) with the opportunity to buy additional holidays
