Events Assistant
Salary - From £11.50 per hour
Reporting to - Survivor Experience Manager
Location:
Tamworth
Care of Police Survivors (COPS) is a charity that supports the families of police officers who have died on duty.
We offer peer support by providing our beneficiaries, known as survivors, with the opportunity to meet other families who have experienced the same tragic loss.
Our regular events include organised weekends away for groups of survivors; monthly virtual events enabling survivors to meet via zoom; and an annual survivor weekend and service of remembrance where we bring all our survivors together in one place.
What we are looking for:
- You may be an Events or Marketing Graduate with a placement years' experience, or you may have worked in a similar role in the events sector, or you may have extensive administration/personal assistant experience and are looking to work in events.
- You may be returning back to the workplace and have extensive administration/personal assistant experience and are interested in work working in events.
- Compassion and understanding for those who have been bereaved
- You will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to build relationships internally and externally.
- You will be highly organised, able to work under pressure to strict deadlines and be fluid to deal with changing and lastminute deadlines.
- Proactive and naturally inquisitive within all areas of your work.
- Shows empathy, tact and diplomacy with the charity's beneficiaries and donors
- Enjoys working in a small team
- Flexible to work additional hours needed to meet deadlines and attend set events.
- Selfmotivated, you work with initiative and are focused on quality and attention to detail.
- Confident with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook),
- Experience with Raisers Edge or other databases would be an advantage but not essential.
- Ideally you will have a Full Driver's License with access to a car.
What the role will involve:
- Supporting the Survivor Experience Manager internally with all associated events administration.
- Helping to organise multiple in person and virtual events for the charity's beneficiaries and assist with organising the charity's annual fundraising ball.
- Working with the Survivor Experience Manager to discuss, identify and book appropriate event locations, venues, and activities within the UK.
- Coordinating all elements of events and associated logistics, coordinating invitations, lists of attendees, travel arrangements, hotel bookings and much more.
- Collate event feedback and report on key data.
- Working with the Survivor Experience Manager to maintain the charity's database.
- Monitoring an events inbox and communicating at all stages of the events.
- Any other tasks that will support the charity for which you have the necessary skills and experience.
- Ad hoc administration tasks that support the wider team.
