Do you want to make a genuine difference to the lives of residents living across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole?

We are looking for a talented and driven communications and marketing professional to join our award-winning team.

You will be partnering with internal clients across a number of council business areas, providing strategic expertise to support service priorities as well as protecting the reputation of BCP Council with effective communications and marketing activity.


You will be influencing and providing strategic communications advice to directors, elected members and senior officers, be skilled at developing innovative and creative solutions, and working in collaboration with the Marketing, Communications and Policy team to deliver and achieve service objectives.


This role will primarily support our Infrastructure and Transport services - so you will be helping to make a real difference to the people and place.

We want to hear from you if you are experienced at:

  • Planning, budgeting, implementing, delivering and evaluating effective and creative communications and marketing strategies
  • Finding positive solutions to complex communication challenges
  • Effective issues management that may negatively impact on the council's reputation
  • Building great productive relationships with key stakeholders and internal account management
  • Managing multiple projects and deadlines, and adapting quickly to changing demands and work priorities.
