As an LSA at our schools, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one or small group instruction to students who need extra support in their studies.

This may include students with learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, or other special needs.

You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other education professionals to develop and implement individualised learning plans for these students and monitor their progress to ensure they are making progress.


To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt your teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.

You should also be patient, empathetic, and able to work well as partof a team. A degree in education or a related field is preferred, but not always required.


The role will include but is not limited:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons
  • Listening to children read, reading to them, or telling them stories
  • Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
  • Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
  • Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
  • Supervising group activities
  • Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
  • Be patient and willing to build relationship with children
  • Have an empathetic nature
  • Have experience working as a general teaching assistant (preferably)
  • Good behaviour management
  • An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults
