Trade Team Recruitment are currently looking for a QC Officer to start ASAP for our client based in the YO11 area

**Daily duties/ Responsibilities: - Use of calibrated measuring equipment to various testing standards.

  • Performing inspection and testing activities of incoming materials and finished products in accordance with company procedures to determine that they meet a certain standard.
  • To collate and build handover document files and quality reports as per client requirements.
  • Questioning the nature of defects and providing future solutions.
  • Comparing finished products to original patents.
  • Ensure the adherence of all policies and procedures concerning quality are maintained and report all nonconformances to the QC Superintendent.
  • Perform inspections of precision components and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications using tools such as callipers, and gauges visual inspection of products before and after operations are completed and detect any nonconformances or noncompliant parts.
  • Effectively communicate quality issues to the QC Superintendent for immediate correction to ensure that all products meet customer specifications.
  • Adhere to all quality and regulatory compliance procedures.
  • Conduct external supplier audits.
  • Ensures compliance with job specifications, working with specifications for of electrical equipment and materials.
  • Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and requirements by preparing mechanical/electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or technical maps.
  • Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations, and working on checking diagrams, and structural schemes.
**Working Conditions: - Part of time is spent in an office environment; most of the time is spent making numerous site visits above and underground workplaces.

  • Exposure to deadlines, multiple demands, distractions/interruptions.
  • Dealing with underground environment such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise, and fumes.

Required Quals / Experience:


  • 3 years experience within a quality/inspection background
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Quality Control Qualification (ISO9001 Lead Auditor)
  • Mining/Tunnelling/Rail background would be an advantage
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Capable of producing high quality written material both on a computer and by hand.
  • Data analytics skills and experience
  • Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges
  • Awareness of Health and Safety on a construction site
  • The ability to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures is essential
  • Able to pass a safety critical medical

Salary / Benefits:


  • The salary for this role is £65, % taxable bonus,
- accommodation package included if over an hour away from any of our P&R sites,

  • 8% ER pension contribution
