Wilburton CE Primary School has just achieved PLATINUM award from Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) Primary Programme.

This means we take play seriously for all of our children, and seek to give them fantastic opportunities and resources to make playtimes amazing for everyone.

To sustain and further improve our play offer, we are recruiting an outdoor play co-ordinator to work for 10 hours per week (2 per day), in our friendly, small village school.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the outdoor play team at lunchtime every day for the hour of lunchtimes (12:151:15pm);
• Creating and updating risk assessments for play areas;
• Maintaining resources and stock, and adding new areas/resources for pupils;
• Meeting with children to find out what they enjoy and acting on this, giving them feedback;
• Communicating effectively with play team leaders, school staff, children and parents;
• Leading play assemblies for pupils;
• Running games and activities;
• Being an ambassador for play, leading by example and ensuring play has a high profile for the school;
• Being proactive and creative to make play exciting and continually interesting;
• Liaising with external agencies, including local companies and parents, to source free or discounted items that can be used for play.

This role is classed as 'Other Educational Support Staff P03a' which has pay scale of point £21.51 -£23.09 per hour).

The role is paid for through the school sports premium funding, and therefore dependent on the continuation of this in future years.
