The role:

  • The successful Senior Buyer Food will manage multiple food categories and will have responsibility for sourcing and negotiating a range that meets the strategic plan and delivers targeted cost savings and profit targets
  • The Senior Buyer Food will create the strategic vision, develop and implement buying/sourcing strategies engaging all key stakeholders both internal and external
  • As Senior Buyer Food you will segment the supply base performance manages the supply base using a combination of facetoface meetings, factory visits, telephone conversations
  • As a Senior Buyer Food, you will work with the Brand team and Development Chefs challenging where required on; commercial proposition, specification, price, volumes, logistics, packaging, size options etc
  • You will currently be working as a food buyer wither within food retail, multiple restaurants, food wholesale within the UK
  • It is essential that you can demonstrate a passion for buying and a flair for commerciality along with fantastic negotiation skills
  • Working collaborative as part of a team you must have excellent relationship building skills you will be able to communicate and influence with stakeholders.
  • As Senior Buyer Food you must have good insight and data analysis skills and be able to action opportunities to drive profit
  • You will have excellent planning and organization skills and will be able to work independently on your own initiative, a selfstarter with cando attitude
