As a Barclays Head of Design, you will lead the HR Design team to execute on Design team strategy and services.

You will also lead the operational management of the team and lead the execution of strategic Talent & Development UX & Content Development builds.

This is an opportunity for you to provide stakeholders with senior learning consultancy expertise to translate business requirements into learning options/proposals.

What will you be doing?

  • Being responsible for the quality and production of bespoke learning solutions for HR
  • Providing design services that meet and support business requirements (end to end learning/content governance/education of authors/quality assurance)
  • Accounting for the content governance of all solutions authored within the team
  • Developing the Design team capabilities to be able to fulfil the Design team service offering
  • Acting as the Centre of Excellence lead for embedded business learning teams and authors, overseeing authoring standards, communications and Lab authoring tool training
  • Translating strategic business requirements into learning outcomes for large scale Group programmes
  • Having oversight of Design budget spend and forecasting
  • Taking responsibility for developing and coaching Design colleagues

What we're looking for:


  • Experience as a strategic partner, helping Talent & Development leaders develop and execute a sound, costeffective plan
  • Solid understanding of learning design and behavioural psychology
  • Previous experience in understanding needs, defining possibilities and presenting solution concepts, including multiple delivery strategies
  • Exceptional background in managing a multiplatform learning solution from needs assessment through evaluation

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Ability to interpret big data sets to draw out analysis of success and future needs
  • Understanding of Agile Project Management methodology
  • Experience of cuttingedge digital media e.g., AI, AR, and VR
