Project Support Officer - (Inside IR35)**
Contract Term: 3 Months possible extension

Location:
Hybrid - 2 days a week in either the London, Birmingham, Salford or Cardiff Offices / Remote Working


Project delivery and commercial competition products. Leading the drafting of key project delivery and commercial products alongside colleagues from policy, commercial, analysis etc. Taking these products from initial drafts through assurance and approvals to support the scheme's delivery

We are seeking highly motivated Project Support Officers who are looking to develop themselves and their career

As a Project Support Officer your main responsibilities will be**-
Stakeholders: Build and nurture professional relationships with a wide range of partners, particularly potential grant administrator suppliers. Liaising directly with these partners and key colleagues from across other government departments, including Cabinet Office and HMT, to bring together information and knowledge as required to feed into the products and support delivery.

Risks and issues: Supporting the identification of threats to delivery working with risk managers to monitor and evaluate risks and managing reporting on issues and risks as appropriate.

Planning and scheduling: Implementing and maintaining appropriate systems to enable effective planning of the projects in our programme, leading on the aspects for which you are responsible.

Monitoring and reporting: Maintain project controls and support teams to prepare project performance reports. Challenge colleagues (including at senior level) on inputs to planning and reporting as required.

Communication: Support briefings to senior colleagues, ahead of attending project boards. Act as a representative of the project in internal and cross
  • Whitehall meetings, leading on the aspects for which you are responsible.

Leadership: Lead and manage workload of HEO(s) within the Project Delivery Team


Skills and Experience required

  • Has knowledge and previous experience of successfully supporting colleagues to deliver projects.
  • Has an understanding of managing risks/issues and benefits within a project or programme.
  • Has experience in supporting the process of Grants through to approval
  • A working knowledge of Grant in relation to local authorities
  • Has the ability to make effective decisions by working to understand the key and complex issues, assess a range of options and reach clear resolutions.
  • Can build and improve working relationships, keeping those who need to know, informed of emerging issues and trends within the project.
  • Can coordinate a complex workload, prioritising and delivering outputs in a fastpaced and changeable working environment.
  • Is comfortable handing large amounts of data with a good eye for detail.
  • Has strong presentation skills and is an excellent teammate.
  • Strong self starter as part of a team of 16 staff
  • Reporting of Governance Information
  • Working knowledge of Visio and MSP Projects

Qualifications desirable

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • APM Project Management Qualification
