    Description

    Insolvency Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Insolvency Lawyer to join our expanding team in Exeter, Torquay or Plymouth. Our client is a highly regarded, award-winning regional firm with a reputation for quality work and strong collaboration.

The Insolvency Team supports Insolvency Practitioners, distressed businesses and their creditors, providing support on matters such as:

    • Administrations
    • Administrative receiverships
    • Company voluntary arrangements
    • Directors' disqualification
    • Liquidations
    • Insolvency litigation

As the team grows, there is considerable scope for progression to senior level and a potential future leadership role in time for someone with the right blend of technical skills, personal motivation and commercial awareness.

Working closely with the Partner, you will be allocated an established caseload of insolvency and restructuring matters of varying size and complexity from the outset. Your primary focus will be to provide exceptional client service, appreciating the commercial context and offering considered and commercially relevant support to clients prior to and during insolvency proceedings.

In addition to developing your existing referrer networks in the region to secure new client instructions, you will be actively collaborating and sharing information with the Corporate & Commercial teams within the firm, ensuring seamless and exemplary client service.

The Insolvency team will be growing in the coming years, and you will be pivotal in supporting the development of the team, along with collaboration with other teams to provide seamless and exemplary client service.

Having gained experience as an Insolvency Lawyer in a UK law firm, you will be accustomed to handling a varied caseload of good quality insolvency matters with limited supervision, and with increasing independence over time.

You will understand how to generate new business opportunities for your team and the wider firm, promoting your profile and building up referrer networks. You will be keen to build out your network with Insolvency Practitioners across the region, and contribute towards broader business development activities in agreement with the Partner.

    Benefits include:

    • 25 days annual leave per annum, plus Bank Holidays
    • Birthday leave
    • NHS Cash Top-Up Benefit through the Western Provident Association (WPA)
    • Employee Assistance Programme
    • Membership of Mindful Employer
    • Cycle to Work scheme
    • Firm pension scheme
    • Death in Service benefit

Based from offices in Exeter, Torquay or Plymouth with hybrid working, you will be encouraged to engage in business development activities, promoting your own profile with referrer contacts in the region along with that of the firm.

Our current benefits package includes a range of perks and rewards to ensure you feel valued and supported in your role.

An active and enthusiastic team member, you will work positively with the Corporate Team to support their clients as and when restructuring and insolvency support is needed.

Consider yourself to be a resilient and collegiate lawyer who enjoys delivering exceptional client service and encourage your team to do the same.
