The Diagnostic Imaging residency offered is a three-year program designed to provide advanced training in Diagnostic Imaging and to satisfy the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) residency requirements.

We have 1 position available, starting in May 2024.


We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven, fast-learning and inquisitive clinician with a passion for clinical work, learning and clinical research.

The applicants must be veterinarians who are graduate of an EAEVE-approved veterinary school and must be members of the RCVS.

They should have completed a one-year rotating internship or have spent at least two years in practice gaining clinical experience and skills equivalent to an internship in accordance with EBVS guidelines.

Experience in diagnostic imaging is highly recommended.


Our residency program offers the benefits of a busy referral hospital with a varied case load comprising dogs, cats and exotics, while also providing ample off-clinics time for externships, research, study-leave and holiday.

Participation in an 'out of hours' rota is also expected.

Pride Veterinary Referrals is the central small animal hospital for the Scarsdale Veterinary Group, a multi-species practice employing over 300 staff across 11 sites in the Midlands.

At Pride we offer specialist services in internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, ophthalmology, cardiology and dermatology and on-site hydro
- and physiotherapy. The state-of-the-art hospital provides 24/7 veterinary care, supported by a dedicated night team.


We work closely with the University of Nottingham, with the veterinary students rotating through first opinion and referral services at Pride.

We are located at the edge of Derby city centre with good transport links to major cities via road and rail network.

East Midlands Airport and Birmingham International Airport offer convenient access to domestic and international destinations. The beautiful Peak District is just around the corner.


Work Alongside our Specialist Team:


The experienced, friendly team of 100+ veterinary professionals at Pride deliver specialist-led care across all disciplines, collaborating to provide the best possible outcome for all our patients.


The imaging team is currently comprised of three specialist radiologists, two residents, one intern, four radiographers and one imaging nurse.

We have a varied and challenging imaging caseload covering all imaging modalities (MRI, CT, ultrasound, and radiography).


What We're Looking For:


  • Two years of clinical experience in general practice and/or would have performed a oneyear rotating internship
  • Member of the RCVS
  • Good English Language, both verbal and written
  • Enthusiasm for learning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong work ethic
  • Be able to work efficiently and understand the time constraints

Working Hours:


This is a full-time role composing of 43 hours over 5 days per week which will include a fair share of out of hours and weekend cover.
