Description

Following a period of work based competency training, you will To be an active team member of the sleep disorder service which will providing effective and well coordinate assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of children sleep disorders.

Assist in assessment of children and young people with suspected sleep disorder.

To implement and evaluate sleep management programmes with families using flexible approaches which will be reviewed under the supervision of the Line Manager.

To participate in the delivery of education to parents flexibly either in the clinic or via telephone.

To carry out home visits as directed by line manager. To Liaise with other services and agencies as required. To co-ordinate autography watch loans where appropriate as directed by line manager. As delegated by the multidisciplinary team escort patients between departments for investigations and treatments.

To sign post/refer patients onto follow on services as appropriate.

To work independently and acknowledge any limitations in competence when accepting assigned duties from qualified staff and to be able to identify when referral to a qualified member of staff is required.

To be competent in the use of medical equipment including basic safety checks and arranging for servicing, modifications or repairs.

You will work flexibly across the team to meet the needs of the service.

To accurately record and contribute to case note documentation in compliance with the Trust /Service standards. To be responsible for receiving and passing on information within the multi-disciplinary team. This includes the handling of confidential and occasionally sensitive information.

To demonstrate sound knowledge of use of hospital information systems, including data imputing and returns of statistical and information data as required.
