    Job Overview

    We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specimen Collector to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients safely and efficiently, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to infection control standards.

    The Medical Specimen Collector will play a vital role in our diagnostic services, working collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless patient care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collect blood samples from patients using venepuncture and capillary sampling techniques.
    • Accurately label and process blood specimens for laboratory analysis.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen collection and processing.
    • Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality at all times.
    • Work collaboratively with the clinical team to identify and resolve any issues related to specimen collection or processing.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a phlebotomist or completion of accredited phlebotomy training.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
    • Empathetic and patient-centred approach.
    • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
    • Current DBS check and up-to-date immunisations.
