Description
The primary responsibility of the post-holder is to provide administrative and technical support within Medical Engineering and Equipment Services.

You will be required to build a close working rapport with colleagues and appropriate external contacts to ensure a fully integrated customer focused approach.

You will co-ordinate and prioritise workload to deliver an efficient and effective service, supporting the team to deliver a high-quality service to both patients and staff.


  • To be the 1stpoint of contact for the service, handling customer enquiries as required. This will include logging jobs and tracking progress of equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Manages the departments orders, from submission of requisition to delivery of goods, following all orders through to closure. Must also deal with any issues relating to payment of corresponding invoices and processing of cheques.
  • Responsible for stock management, ensuring stock is replenished as necessary and that stock checks are completed.
  • Supports the management of equipment maintenance contracts. This includes monitoring maintenance work, processing renewals, arranging maintenance work with suppliers and obtaining assurance work has been carried out.
  • Work with Procurement to ensure the necessary information related to leases and contracts is recorded.
  • To provide administrative support with equipment replacement planning.
  • Creates commission requests on asset management system once orders have been raised for new equipment purchases.
  • Supports the service's response to safety alerts, adding them to the system and liaising with the Patient Safety Team.
  • Provide admin and technical support for the asset tracking system including carrying out audits, tagging new/existing equipment and maintaining infrastructure.

estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).


In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

  • Proven experience working in an administrative or technical support role
  • Experience of procurement and financial processes (managing orders, deliveries and invoices)
  • Effective time management with the ability to use initiative, analyse and solve problems within own remit
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, suppliers and customers
