Job Purpose:


  • This role is a key one within the Development & Alumni Relations Office and across the University as a whole. The postholder will have responsibility for oversight and management of all aspects of Ulster University¿s donorsupported bespoke scholarships for international and postgraduate students including a significant programme supporting Palestinian women to study at Ulster University. Based on an excellent understanding of best practice in similar HEIs, the postholder will significantly contribute to the development of a strategic plan and associated operational plan for the promotion and management of the international and postgraduate scholarship programmes across the year. They will take responsibility for implementation of the plan, including monitoring, evaluating and reporting on progress to a variety of internal audiences. As part of this process, they will ensure that all actions to be undertaken by colleagues related to the implementation of the relevant scholarship programmes are completed as planned (including promotion, selection of applicants, receipt of funding, and disbursements) and will ensure that all scholarship information is gathered and appropriately recorded and reported on to both internal and external stakeholders. Remedial action will be identified and recommendations made by the postholder to senior management as appropriate.
  • The postholder will identify and initiate creative ways in which to promote scholarship opportunities to key audiences in order to maximise uptake of scholarship opportunities by prospective/current students and to highlight the impact of scholarships to the donors. In order to achieve this, the postholder will create and implement a planned schedule of communications and activities to celebrate the achievements of scholarship recipients and the impact of such support from donors. The postholder will build and develop relationships with key staff across the University in relation to the scholarship programmes, including senior leadership, academic leads and professional services colleagues. _.
