An opportunity has arisen fortwo enthusiastic administrators to join the inpatient mental health team at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading.

Previousoffice-basedor customer care experience is essential as are excellent typing andcomputer skills.
These roleswillsupport a project to transfer paper medical records onto electronic patient record systems andrequire the ability tomaintainconcentrationhandlingrepetitive tasks. Full training will be given butthe role does require demonstrable experience of usingMicrosoft Office software.

  • Scanning and uploading large quantities of paper medical records onto the electronic patient record systems
  • Updating electronic patient record systems and other portals to identify that paper records have been uploaded and originals have been destroyed in line with Trust policies and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records of what records have been recalled, uploaded and subsequently destroyed in hard copy format
  • Maintaining spreadsheets to a high degree of accuracy
  • Arranging the recall of paper medical records from the Trust's archiving company and storing these securely until they have been uploaded and the originals destroyed
  • Providing regular updates on progress to the Medical Records Team Leader to ensure the project remains on track

The 3/4 "must haves" for you to be considered for this role:

  • Good standard of education (GCSE at grade C or higher (old grading) grade 4 or higher (new grading) or equivalent in maths and English
  • Previous experience of working in officebased or customer care environments
  • Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) to an advanced level
  • Excellent typing skills with a high degree of accuracy
