Shifts pattern: 2 on 4 off including sleep ins

Dimensions Care are working towards being accredited with the DDP (Dyadic Developmental Practice) model of care and this underpins everything we do on a daily basis with the young people in our care.

We work with DDP consultants and ensure our team have the training and resources they need to embed this model into everyday working.

We are seeking to appoint Senior Care Practitioners who ideally have QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent, with 2 years residential children's home experience.

We have positions available at

  • The Nest
  • Coventry
This home is easily accessible from surrounding areas of Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Warwick, Nuneaton and Solihull. They provide a multi-bed 3/4 service for young people aged between 7-18. The home is decorated and furnished to a high standard.

This role is a permanent, full time post.

Working on shifts throughout the month which will include shift patterns of 2 on 4 days off, to ideally work with your own life balance.

These days will include sleep in shifts.


If you have leadership qualities, we are looking for people who want to learn and develop in the role and progress their career in working with children.

Main Duties:


  • To actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children/young people and ensure all care practitioners do the same
  • To ensure the ongoing assessment of children and young people's needs in day to day practice.
  • Support with tasks within the home such as quality assurance and regulatory visits.
  • Actively promote structure, boundaries and routines within a safe and nurturing environment, being aware of the two hands of parenting.
  • Take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of shifts including the planning and facilitation of activities, daily tasks and health and safety checks.
  • Ensure effective service delivery in line with the policies and procedures of the Home and the Company.
  • To work in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations and other statutory guidance
