The Housing Registrations Team within City of York Council are looking to appoint 3 full-time Housing Registrations Adviser - 2 x permanent 1 x fixed term until March 2024.


The post holder will be responsible for advertising, short listing and allocating vacant properties across the City of York Council area and will work closely with other registered social providers.


The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all associated recording and reporting systems are kept accurately up to date.

Customers may be anxious and under a lot of stress, therefore successful applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills to deal with people in

person or on the phone.


You will be capable of working on your own initiative as well as under the guidance of the housing registrations manager.

Knowledge of housing law and ability to use specialist IT systems is essential as well as good interpersonal skills.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are sympathetic and firm, and you are able to cope in situations, which can be stressful as well as rewarding.

The posts are offered as a hybrid positions, with both home and office working.

Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
