Brixham Community Hospital has vacancies for full/part time Band 2 Healthcare Support Workers to join our welcoming and friendly team.


Brixham Ward is a 20-bedded unit, caring for predominantly Older Adults who require rehabilitation following orthopaedic, surgical and medical admissions.

We also provide palliative and End of Life care. Our friendly team value a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure teamworking. We work closely with our GPs and community colleagues.

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care.

You will also have the ability to work independently to prioritise your workload, find solutions to problems and be able to demonstrate a positive approach to new challenges.

Whilst creating a positive environment and delivering high standards of patient care. You will demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach.

We offer a period of supernumerary support into your role, and further learning and development are encouraged.

We actively encourage personal development and support individuals to reach their potential this may be through extending clinical skills and holding a portfolio role within the unit, or undertaking formal training.


We are looking for a caring and compassionate person who is able to work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of individualised nursing care to our patients.


  • You will need excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently, prioritising your workload to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
  • You will ensure that your own actions support the care, protection and wellbeing of individuals, and ensure their privacy and dignity at all times.
  • You will need to be flexible as this is a rotational post which includes days, nights and weekend working.
