, Permanent**As Head of Global Partnerships you will be responsible to build and coordinate a team with a global scope of activities including:(1) overseeing of global stakeholder and relationship management in particular with new corporate entrants into renewables and financial institutions wishing to deploy capital in renewable;
(2) establishment of a partnering and JV center of excellence that captures best practice, learning, systems development/rollout;
(3) leading global strategic initiatives in cooperation with central M&A and strategy teams, and

(4) tracking post completion rights and obligations associated with partnering transactions within offshore wind.


You will work within the Global Partnerships team, a small team of new business development managers that will act as a resource pool to coordinate initiatives with a cross-technology or cross-regional footprint or ambition for example offshore wind to hydrogen.


Your tasks:


  • It will be your assignment to prioritize key relationships in accordance with RWE's strategy and portfolio optimization goals. Your will maintain RWE's offshore wind strategic partnership model.
  • Engaging and managing relationships with new entrants venturing into the offshore wind in the coming decades (e.g., Oil and Gas, Industrial players) is one of your main focus points. You will also be responsible for establishing relationships with financial institutional partner universe (e.g., pension funds, sovereign funds, private equity).
  • You will assess counterparty risk appetite and scope for renewable asset investments, as well as map out relationships and establish contacts with critical decision makers in targeted global companies that align with the sectors RWE is focusing on.
  • You should handle the organization and facilitation of assurance events, manage complex negotiation setups, and conduct various reviews as needed.
  • In close alignment with respective regional partnership & transaction teams the Head of Global Partnerships role involves negotiating, planning, and maintaining initial strategic partnership agreements for RES equity projects (e.g. MoUs, LoIs), or coordinating of such frontend agreements.
  • You will build up effective market intelligence and establish a global resource pool for Business Development resources for crossOpCo projects and strategic and special projects e.g., PTX projects, on an as needs basis.
  • Your tasks also entail reaching out to potential equity partners to establish new relationships as well as improve close relationships with existing equity partners.
  • You will manage, update, and own the valuation and transaction database, as well as longterm postcompletion contractual rights and obligations e.g., those due >12 months after deal completion.
  • Developing, launching, and taking ownership of commercial systems & process e.g., CRM tools across OFF, framing activities and workshops is another aspect of the role.
  • You will establish new systems and processes, such as negotiation planning and ways of working. Additionally, you will facilitate afteraction reviews to continuously improve practices.
  • Ensuring standards and consistency across projects is within your purview. For instance, you will create centralized templates for concept agreements that incorporate governance models.
  • You will oversee the commercial learning agenda for the partnering & transactions community and setup/host learning events contributing to RWE's Offshore Academy.
  • Your additional responsibility will be coordinating all aspects of relationship management during conferences.

Your Profile:


  • University degree in a relevant field or equivalent
  • Extensive relevant work experience in an international environment, ideally within the energy industry
  • Solid commercial mindset and financial acumen
  • Relationship management or partnering expertise
  • Indepth understanding of all relevant business models (e.g. development, trading, services) and project cycles across technologies (i.e. RES, H2, Gas) within RWE
  • High cultural awareness, networking & communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis (up to 40%)
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory
