Senior Technical Buyer - Engineering background and qualification required

£45 - £55K


A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Buyer / Engineering Buyer to join a vibrant engineering company experiencing a period of significant growth.


On joining the company, you will work closely with the engineering team with no day being the same, will encompassing all aspects of the function from speccing, RFQs, pricing purchasing and expediting.


Your role will include:

  • Working closely with the R&D team and engineers, providing support for product development. You will be challenging engineers on design decisions and so be a significant part of the product development process.
  • Offer cost effective (and time efficient) solutions for nonstandard parts
  • Ensure the purchase of costeffective materials and on time delivery.
  • Supplier management. Build relationships with current and new suppliers. Conduct scoping and approvals, risk assessments and performance evaluations.
  • Develop effective procedures across the purchasing department in line with ISO900
  • Work closely with the quality team to resolve nonconformance issues

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous purchasing experience within an engineering environment
  • Experience of purchasing fibre optics, cables, fittings etc
  • Experience of small batch and volume purchasing
  • Experience working with R&D and engineers
  • Ideally CIPS and Degree qualified

Salary:
£45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
