This is an opportunity for a proactive and motivated individual, with a strong interest in Higher Education on a global scale to join a creative and inspiring team at one of the world's leading universities.
From idea, through business development and culminating in programme delivery, this role's proactive operational support will be crucial in enabling Summer Programmes to teach its seasonal programmes in London, overseas and online.
The role involves a dynamic and varying workload throughout the year with the postholder encountering the busiest periods for Summer Programmes from June to August when they will be expected to be present on campus in London.
They will take a proactive approach to enhancing the student experience in Summer Programmes alongside having responsibility for handling programme logistics and related financial operations, supporting students and teaching staff as well communicating with clients and stakeholders.
This team operates internationally, with programming and networking taking place across the world, so strong cultural awareness and an international outlook is essential along with the ability to adapt experience and skills to performing role tasks internationally (and onsite overseas on occasion) is key.
About Summer Programmes:
King's Summer Programmes are part of the School for Professional and Continuing Education and is a specialist creative business development unit that designs, develops and delivers open and bespoke international education programmes in line with King's Education Strategy.
Its portfolio includes flagship undergraduate and pre-university summer schools, customised undergraduate and postgraduate student programming for international partners, short courses and overseas programmes offered in face-to-face, blended and online modalities.
King's School of Professional & Continuing Education is a new, cross-cutting function designed to widen the educational reach of King's.
It brings together five existing areas:
King's Foundations, Summer Programmes, Modern Language Centre, King's Online and King's Professional & Executive Development. Each of these areas are well established, respected and recognised within and beyond the King's community.
Utilising this success as a springboard, the School of Professional & Continuing Education has been established to provide a clear platform to enable greater and more seamless collaboration with colleagues in Faculties, enabling, developing and delivering a wider view of education across the College, delivered on campus, online and in a blended format.
The School will support King's in this area, particularly around educational innovation and transformational learning experiences for different groups of students at different learning moments, whilst also addressing current structural barriers to growth each area faces.
Our vision is to work collaboratively with Faculties to develop and deliver King's ambitions in expanding learning opportunities across the education spectrum.
By expanding what education means at King's, the new School will offer a joined-up approach to facilitating a broader King's education experience to individual learners, public and private sector groups, and partners, both in the UK and internationally.
This post will be offered as an indefinite contract.This is a full-time job.
Key responsibilities
Education Delivery and
Student Experience
- Reporting to the Student Experience Manager, help them to ensure the brilliant and seamless delivery of daytoday student and programme operations and communications.
- Work with the wider Summer team to plan programme cycles, contributing to the shaping of the provision of processes throughout the academic year, identifying priorities and demonstrating flexibility throughout the cycle, recognising when priorities change, amending plans and adjusting work patterns accordingly
- Deliver the department's student experience and engagement initiatives, including planning and leading delivery of activities within the Summer Society, opening and closing events, etc.
- As part of work led by the Programme Development team, support partnerships, contracts, programmespecific logístical arrangements (UK and overseas), data analysis, prepare presentations, maintain content of communication channels. Travel with and be part of programme delivery overseas as required.
