About the job?
The Plant and Facilities Team Leader at Exeter is pivotal to the safe and efficient running of Exeter TMD. You will report to the Plant and Facilities Manager daily and be accountable for the Plant and Infrastructure performance.


The Plant and Facilities Team Leader will have oversight of plant management at Exeter Depot, this includes the yard, the buildings on the river side and the new depot and office facilities.


They will be responsible for ensuring all plant and facilities remain operational and compliant with statuory health and safety requirements.

They will lead the Plant team at Exeter Depot and ensure resource is suitably tasked to ensure all maintenance and repairs are correctly completed.


Your main responsibilities will be:


  • Leading the plant team to ensure the availability, reliability and statutory compliance of Exeter Depot Plant and Infrastructure.
  • Driving Continuous improvement in your areas of responsibility.
  • Ensuring robust maintenance plans are in place
  • Setting and achieving the highest standards
  • Day to Day Management of contractors/Staff

You'll need to be:


  • A proven leader.
  • Technically astute
  • Capable of multitasking
  • A team player who can build strong and trusted relationships both with customers and suppliers
  • Safety focused at all times
  • Able to coach colleagues and challenge poor behaviour when necessary
  • Experienced with Building Management Systems
  • Able to communicate both internally and externally at all levels

As a minimum, you will need to have:

  • Training in Safety
  • Good IT skills in Word. Outlook, and Excel
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a team ideally within a Plant and Facilities environment_._
  • A minimum of NVQ 3 in an engineering discipline.
  • An understanding of the internal customer's needs and requirements.
  • The courage and confidence to make difficult decisions when required.
  • Budgetary awareness
  • Proven demonstrable experience of managing suppliers' relationships and performance

About the location?
You will be based at Exeter Depot


Additional Information?


This is a day shift role based both in the office with shop floor work to assist the team as required, Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of the role, 'there may be a requirement for some out of hours working. This is an on-call commitment involved with this role.
