Description

This is an independent role within the Finance department but working closely alongside Purchasing, Stores and Production to ensure the material requirements of this busy manufacturing business are met in the most efficient way possible.


Duties and Areas of responsibility -

  • Oversee the Inventory and Direct Materials for all departments and sites, ensuring that stockholdings are appropriate for the needs of Production
  • Overall management of stock system (Sage 200), ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the inventory
  • Management of stock taking and cycle counts
  • Design and implement internal processes and controls over materials in cooperation with staff from other departments
  • Manage Month End Inventory Close Process
  • Report on any low stock levels and routine stock replenishment requirements
  • Investigate, report on and resolve any discrepancies between physical stock vs system figures
  • Maintain and develop all relevant logs, audit reports and KPI's.
  • Report nonconformances and manage returns to suppliers
  • Support stores control processes in outlying sites
  • Management of obsolete stock
  • Any other ad hoc duties

Job requirements -

  • Accuracy, processdriven, desire for continuous improvement

  • Computer literacy: Excel, Sage knowledge (or similar) is desirable
  • Stocktaking
  • Multi skill in all stores functions beyond own specialism.
  • Building relationships across departments
  • General process and product knowledge across departments.
  • Understand company goals and structures.
  • Flexible to work across multiple sites in Plymouth area

Essential

  • Full Clean Valid Driving License
£29K per annum, pro-rata for a 39 hour week

Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am pm

£29,000.00 per year
