About the role:

***At the heart of our organisation's ambitious journey into the digital future, we're looking for an inspiring Digital Transformation Lead. You'll be the driving force behind initiatives that will fundamentally shape the way we work, research, and innovate. Your mission will be to orchestrate changes to our ways of working, acting as the critical bridge between our user base and IT team.

***As the one to guide us through an exciting and dynamic landscape, your focus will be on:
Improving our Data Analytics Platform : We need a change in mindset to move our secure data environment into a trusted research environment, and your leadership will help us explore and achieve an advanced, user-friendly platform that's crucial for our data science research. Transitioning our secure solution that emphasises safeguarding sensitive data against unauthorised access or disclosure to a more advanced system that prioritises our data science initiatives. This shift will empower researchers to access and analyse data within a controlled and secure environment, enhancing both efficiency and integrity.


Assist in the creation of our data strategy : Support the creation of a data strategy that ensures continued and expanded access to necessary research data for our work. This strategy will consider the broader data landscape, including commitments made in the DHSC health and social care data strategy, and will align with our investments in the data analytics platform and our reputation. Your role includes assessing the platform's future and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.


Enhancing our Digital Productivity Tools : You will be the bridge between our user base and IT, managing how we utilise digital productivity tools such as MS Teams, SharePoint, and preparing us for the release of Microsoft CoPilot and generative AI. Your leadership will ensure that everyone matures through the stages of adoption, leaving no one behind.

***Your responsibilities will be broad and encompassing, from overseeing the planning, execution, and tracking of digital transformation initiatives to managing the alignment of digital investments with our organisational strategy. You will work hand in hand with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure the successful delivery of transformative digital capabilities that not only align with our vision but are also delivered on time and within budget.


About you:

***Your work will go beyond overseeing our digital transformation initiatives. You will be aligning these initiatives with our organisational strategy, making sure they are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget. You will be someone who thrives on innovation, leadership, and the ability to see the big picture. Your expertise in managing complex projects, especially related to digital transformation, will be vital. You'll design a roadmap, improve data management, oversee execution, manage resources, assess our digital readiness, engage with stakeholders, and foster innovation.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing a path that outlines the modernisation of our digital capabilities, in compliance with regulations and in alignment with organisational objectives.

Implementing and improving our data management and analysis infrastructure, moving towards a state-of-the-art, user-friendly platform.

  • Navigating through competing priorities, tight timelines, and regulatory complexities to ensure successful delivery.
  • Developing and managing project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, keeping stakeholders engaged, and maintaining relationships with external vendors.
  • Leading change management efforts, developing training programs, ensuring network security, and evaluating emerging technologies.


You will also need to have an unwavering focus on innovation and continuous improvement, driving the adoption of new technologies that provide a competitive advantage and enhance our business processes.
