THE ROLE:


The post holder will join the Faculty at an exciting time and will work to deliver a graduate entry medical education (GEM) programme at Portsmouth in conjunction with Kings College London (KCL).

The intention of the course will be to help address the health and wellbeing needs of the Portsmouth, East Hampshire and the Isle of Wight health and care systems.


The role holder will work closely with the GP Lead to ensure engagement of NHS placement partners in all relevant aspects of curriculum and assist in the recruitment of new healthcare placement providers.

You will be expected to build contacts with GP Practices and Community providers and develop working relationships which enhance future collaboration.


The post-holder will have a key role within the School for oversight of the organisational arrangements associated with community clinical placements.

You will put systems, procedures and processes in place to ensure the provision of a high-quality administrative service to support the clinical faculty, clinical placement providers, clinical supervisors and trainers and medicine students.

This will include putting in place systems to provide and analyse high-level statistical data to support practice placement strategies, enhance the student experience and for reporting purposes to the General Medical Council (GMC), Health Education England (HEE), HESA and any associated visits for audit requirements.

This will include setting up procedures to monitor provision by clinical providers.


This will be a varied, interesting and challenging role, which requires excellent self-management and organisation skills, flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks, in order to meet deadlines to the required standards.

A commitment to the delivery of an excellent student practice learning experience will be essential.
