An outstanding school in Waltham Forest, East London with a provision for pupils with autism and complex learning needs such as mild hearing or visual impairment, global delay, emotional difficulties in Waltham Forest, East London.

Initially with 20 pupils but growing to a maximum of 45 pupils aged 5-16 are now looking for a SEN Mentor to join them.

The school are willing to provide training to staff before handing them a classroom of their own.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teaching assistant who is looking to step up in to a more senior role.


The school in Waltham Forest, East London are looking for a SEN Mentor who is compassionate, keen and caring individual to join the team to support 7 pupils with a learning difficulty.

Your day as a SEN Mentor will depend entirely on how you support the children and work with a lovely team of support staff.

There really are no limits to the interests, passions, hobbies and activities that the students we support enjoy.

The provisions aim is to help pupils develop and improve their skills, whilst also supporting them to integrate into their local communities and looking for life after education for their careers.

There is a person-centred practice at the provision and many students are assigned with 1:1 support for a minimum of 10 hours per week.

This enables the pupils to fulfil their lives and help them to achieve the things that are important.


The SEN Mentor
would:


  • Work with pupils who have SEN
  • Helping all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
  • Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
  • Support pupils with communication skills
  • Help pupils develop their communication and life skills
  • Be part of a growing school
