We are currently recruiting for a Senior Marine & Energy Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, a highly regarded Lloyd's Syndicate and (re)insurer with an excellent reputation within the market.

Key Responsibilities

Adjusting, assessing and managing assigned Marine and Energy claims within own defined authority.
Setting of file strategies and negotiating settlement in accordance with policy terms.
Prompt reporting on large losses, both internally and to reinsurers.
Ensuring large and complex claims are managed / escalated correctly, referring appropriately for support / guidance where needed.
Undertaking international travel and attending market claims meetings as required.
Assisting with reviews of Vendor panels.
Liaising with brokers, stakeholders and policy holders as required.
Supporting the Head of Claims by contributing to the claims strategies and the underpinning of infrastructure.
Mentoring and coaching more junior team members, including referral support.
Providing support to the Underwriting team, Actuaries and senior management, including advising on claims related information, policy wordings and endorsements.
Assisting with undertaking legal and/or claims studies in potential new markets/product areas.

Key Requirements

Relevant experience in a range of classes of Commercial / Specialty Insurance within the Lloyd's / London Market.
Good understanding of reinsurance.
Strong track record in managing Lawyers, Loss Adjusters and other significant thirdparty expert service providers in relevant markets.
Understanding of Catastrophe event management procedures, and experience in large loss management, is preferred but not essential.
Working knowledge of ECF2 / Writeback systems.
