Are you passionate about supporting and advocating for vulnerable young people who could be or are at high risk of child sexual exploitation, gang involvement, on the edge of care or who go missing? Are you able to work flexibly and skilled at building trusting, positive, relationships with young people, even when they may give the impression they don't want to know?


The Central SASH Team (CSASH) deliver flexible support to the highest risk cases countywide within the Specialist Adolescent Service Hertfordshire (SASH), which could include complex family dysfunction, high risk behaviour, homelessness, child sexual exploitation, child criminal exploitation and Tier 4 returns home (mental health).


We also support children and young people open to Family Safeguarding and Children Looked After Services to return from care home to their families.


Our existing area teams case hold, with the Central SASH delivering a wraparound response to young people and their families at the time that it is needed.


We are looking for a diverse team, with a rich range of experiences and specialisms and a passion for direct work.

Due to the nature of the team and the crises we will be responding to, we need to be flexible in both our approach and working hours, visiting families in the evenings or at weekends when needed.


Although there are no specific qualifications required for this role, previous experience in social care or working with children and young people is beneficial.

Most importantly we are looking for someone with passion. Professional and/or personal life experience is welcomed.

Driving Roles Only:

As part of this role, you will be required to travel to other HCC Sites/Residences either using your own mode of transport or a company car.

In light of this, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role a DVLA check will be required on appointment.


English Fluency:

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
