The WEC Group are currently on the lookout for an energetic Welding Assessor who is experienced & enthusiastic about the world of Welding & Fabrication.

The successful Welding Assessor will be responsible for assessing and verifying the competencies of welding apprentices, ensuring that they meet industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
Assessment and Verification
- Conduct practical and theoretical assessments of welding apprentices.
- Ensure assessments are carried out in accordance with industry standards and organizational guidelines.
- Develop and update assessment materials and tools.
Training Support
- Provide feedback and guidance to apprentices to help them improve their welding skills.
- Collaborate with instructors to ensure training programs are aligned with assessment criteria.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of assessment processes.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments and apprentice progress.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Industry Engagement
- Liaise with industry partners to stay updated on current welding standards and practices.
- Attend industry meetings, conferences, and workshops to maintain professional development.
Health and Safety
- Ensure all assessments are conducted in a safe and controlled environment.
- Promote and enforce health and safety standards within the training facility.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as an A1 Assesor
- A relevant qualification in Welding & Fabrication (e.g. CSWIP, City & Guilds, NVQ in Welding)
- You will be required to pass an Enhanced DBS check, of which the company will pay.
- Ability to work effectively and use own initiative
- Ability to lead and manage and train others to achieve desired results
- Fully conversant with welding, fabrication and ability to read engineering drawings.
