Reading University are looking for an enthusiastic, well organized, hard working and proactive Farm Secretary to ensure the smooth running of both the commercial Farms, and on Farm Research activity within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development.

Based at the Centre for Dairy Research (CEDAR), you will be responsible for the Reception/Farm Office and provide executive support as needed for commercial farm and research business.

The role holder will work alongside the Farms Manager and senior Research staff and will require a good understanding of relevant systems and processes.

You will form strong working relationships with suppliers, and other University departments such as Procurement, HR, Maintenance, Accounts, etc.

You will have to be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Good numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to maintain administrative and financial records
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and meet set deadlines
