About the Role


Join the IVC Commercial Finance team in a key finance leadership role, partnering with the UK & ROI CFO and CEO to deliver the strategic and operational financial management and risk management/control framework of the Region.

As the Head of Finance, you will connect with the business to ensure investment strategies and plans optimise commercial performance.

You will deliver effective financial insight to the leadership team and support optimal decision making.

Possessing a true partnership mentality, both as part of the finance team, and as a key business partner to the UK & I Leadership team, you will have the opportunity to both support and positively challenge leaders across the business to instil a growth and performance improvement mindset.


Deputising for the UK & CFO when required, this role provides a great career opportunity for a driven, ambitious Head of Finance with aspirations to continue their career trajectory within an evolving, fast paced business.

Key responsibilities:


  • Assess business performance through trading period to provide focus, insight and enable the leadership team to deliver region targets
  • Partner with the UK & ROI CFO and CEO and other senior leaders on operational and strategic issues as they arise, providing strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, and revenue/expense analysis to support improved sales and marketing effectiveness and sustainable growth
  • Ensure the regular monitoring of financial performance metrics and KPIs. Identify issues and opportunities and work with the UK & ROI CFO and the leadership team to capitalise on opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of consolidated results to the Group, with a full understanding and explanation of the performance drivers
  • Lead and develop a high performing Finance team to provide excellent operational and strategic decisionmaking support to the business teams
  • Assess and evaluate investment strategies, including oversight of financial business cases for capex/projects in line with group standards
  • Lead the delivery of risk management and financial controls frameworks as defined by group policy and local requirements within region locations to ensure that all financial responsibilities are met in the region.
  • Lead the management of overheads to drive effective cost management, identifying and driving delivery of regional cost efficiencies.
  • Oversee the P&L, balance sheet and cashflow budgeting and forecasting to ensure robust business plans and management controls including inventory optimisation and capital expenditure planning are in place to deliver against target.
  • Recommend improvements to formal procedures, processes, and administration of financial services to drive improvement to current and future ways of working in line with agreed outcomes

Experience required.

  • Professionally qualified accountant with relevant and extensive commercial finance experience and understanding of financial accounting gained in operational roles during that period
  • Experience of working in a medium / large international business with different cultures and working within a collaborative, matrix environment. Experience working in an industry with similar challenges e.g. healthcare, retail or consumer goods business
  • Experience in influencing Senior Leadership, managing multiple complex relationships/ stakeholders
  • Strong people management skills to attract top talent through celebrating success, creating an inclusive workplace and focusing on team development.
  • Experience in adding value to business decision making, investment valuation, and working on large financial analysis projects
  • Extensive analytical experience, ability to assess complex data and quickly identify key issues and drivers
  • A good understanding of basic commercial arrangements (agency and distribution contracts, franchise agreements, logistics and sourcing contracts)
  • Strong understanding of control environment, business processes and systems.
  • Experience of strategic planning, budget and forecasting processes
