Finance and Inventory Controller

Barnyarns Sew Centre we have a very rare and exciting opportunity for a Finance and Inventory controller to join our growing workforce.
Established for almost 20 years we delight our customers by offering a huge range of sewing machines and haberdashery products and have become one the UKs leading and innovative online and retail companies.
Position
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance controller is a new role in our growing team and we are looking for a highly motivated individual, on a part time basis, 2/3 days a week initially, with scope to increase in line with revenue growth.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Finance
- Implementation of an internal accounts software process
- Sage or Xero (currently not utilised)
- Processing payment runs
- Payroll & expenses
- Inputting payments and remits onto the accounts ledger
- Cash flow forecasting
- Processing Purchase Invoices for approval.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
- Reconcile Supplier Statements to Accounts
- Prepare financial reports and with monthend close
- HR contracts holidays etc.
Stock Control
- Coordinate all stock control operations with warehouse team.
- Track inventory data to ensure latest pricing is accurately reflected on all sales platforms.
- Check in products and compare deliveries to outstanding purchase orders
- Analyse supply chain data and sales performance to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock.
- Keep track of inventory and supplies that need restocking
- Forecasts supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running outofstock.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- At least 4 years Finance experience.
- Preferably have Level 3 AAT or equivalent qualification or studying towards one
- A good level of knowledge and experience of using Sage or Xero
- Working Knowledge on payroll an advantage.
- Previous experience in Inventory management in a similar industry
- A solution finder, able to work through problems effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A confident and clear communicator.
- Relationship builder with customers, suppliers and the wider team
- Experience of Excel, Word, Outlook.
Immediate start available.
21 days holiday plus bank holidays pro rata.
Salary £30,000 to £35,000 pro rata.
