***We have recently announced the creation of Pilgrim's Shared Services, a fourth stand-alone company, which will bring together some of the support functions of our current three businesses (Moy Park, excluding France and Netherlands, Pilgrim's UK & Pilgrim's Food Masters). Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality shared service to those three businesses.


As the business grows, this shared service will broaden opportunities for career development as part of a far larger organisation.

We will also continue our investment in technology to drive efficiencies and improved ways of working.

As part of our growing team, we are recruiting a

Buyer role reporting to the

Senior Buyer within the Supply Chain Services - Procurement function.


This role can be based at either of our sites: Warwick, Grantham or Craigavon.

Purpose of Role:


This role is required as the Procurement functions across Moy Park and Pilgrims UK combine, as well as assuming additional responsibilities following company acquisitions.


You will assist with delivery of the Procurement Strategy and roadmap across the Pilgrim's European Group, ultimately delivering a robust and sustainable supply base and additionally support the Senior Buying team, working in a cross-functional environment, delivering against agreed challenging targets, driving efficiencies and ensuring best total cost of purchase while minimising risk.


Responsibilities:


  • Support ongoing performance management of supply base.
  • Drive improvements in supplier quality and service.
  • Support sites on supplier issues as appropriate, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Collate and prepare monthly reports.
  • Record commodity and market information to support with supplier negotiations.
  • Support senior buyers with supplier rationalisation and synergy projects.
  • Develop cost reduction and benchmarking projects to drive savings and improvements.
  • Deputise for senior buyers when required.
  • Travel as and when required to other PSSL sites and suppliers.
  • Work as part of a cross functional team on cost saving projects.

What You'll Need

  • Buying experience within FMCG or manufacturing ideally, but open to other industries
  • Good IT skills, Microsoft office
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Able to work effectively within a team and on own initiative
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
