Job Description:
Maintenance/ Repair
- Supervise Maintenance Engineers undertaking maintenance, inspection, and repair of depot plant in accordance with the agreed maintenance regime defined on the Maintenance Management System, including scheduling new tasks in accordance with statutory legislationas applicable.
- Undertake 1st line fault finding to identify most appropriate and economic means of rectification.
- Undertake fault rectification, preventative maintenance, and inspection of plant and facilities, as the need arise and following appropriate training and/or competence assessment.
- Check the facilities performance using the Building Management System daily for any alarms and rectify as applicable.
- Liaise directly with the TOC representative to plan and coordination planned maintenance activities and rectification of defects on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Carry out regular weekly walk rounds of the site to identify any facility asset deterioration and report / repair as applicable.
- Ensure spares are identified / managed in line with materials required to comply with the agreed maintenance regime.
- Using Lean and continuous improvement methodologies, identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency within own area, scoping and delivering a range of continuous improvement projects as agreed with line manager, ensuring the benefits are captured andshared with other depots.
- Recommends solutions and potential resources to implement improvements to Environmental Health & Safety issues/challenges.
- Produce risk assessments and job procedures for all activities in line with the agreed maintenance regime.
- Maintain all contracted maintenance work records using a computerised Maintenance Management System.
- Maintain the Depot Asset Register for Plant and Facilities
- Supervise the work and manage Siemens Plant & Facilities Technician
- Ensure subcontractors are appropriately inducted and briefed and follow Siemens company and TOC procedures onsite.
- Demonstrate competence in all the Siemens Management Standards.
- Role Model behaviour and values consistent with Siemens Values, Siemens Rail Systems Behavioural Partnership and Siemens Business Conduct Guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in plant and facilities maintenance in an operationally demanding environment.
- A minimum City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or BTEC HNC/HND in either electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines is preferred.
- A high level of experience in faultfinding, knowledge of IT and the ability to understand and interpret drawings and wiring diagrams is necessary.
- Driving licence is required due to the requirements to travel to other Thameslink sites and Maintenance Contractor Offices
- Experience of supervising/managing people management and management of contract resource, would be beneficial
Self-motivated, work effectively without direct supervision and is committed to delivering a quality output within a fixed timescale with an ability to schedule tasks and assign resources effectively within budget.
Ideally come from an electrical backgroundworking on facilities.Industries considered:
Rail/Rolling Stock, ex-Armed Forces, HGV and Heavy Mobile Plant/Agricultural, Fast Fit, Property maintenance
