What's the scope of the role?_**An exciting role exists for you to develop an in-depth knowledge of site-specific equipment and share knowledge with others across the EDF Group, Supervising the Control Room that manages all windfarm activities and interfaces effectively and ensures strong performance.

The Control Room Supervisor will need to work closely with the Asset Operations Performance Team and deliver business processes driving "asset health" and integrity.

The role will report to the NnG (Neart Na Gaoithe) Operations Manager, with regular meeting with the wider EDF Asset Performance Team.

You will work in a proactive, flexible, cost effective and safe manner.

They will be expected to be an active contributor to the further development of EDF's Offshore Wind O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Strategy.

What you will be doing day to day._**You will work with the Operations Manager and Production Manager to manage the Eyemouth Control Room ensuring NnG Windfarm Operations and Logistics are carried out Safely, on-time and to the required standards.


As part of your responsibility for the compliance the Supervisor will manage the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory for the NnG O&M Team and maintain training records, ensuring that team members are made aware of any refresher requirements.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the off-site spare parts storage facility complies with all requirements.

  • Provide Control Room Leadership to motivate and contribute to a culture of performance excellence and to identify lessons learnt to feed back into project development work
  • Overall responsibility for the daytoday operations of the Eyemouth Control Room and team
  • Ensure compliance with Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR), site grid obligations and any other statutory requirements
  • Management of a rota for the delivery of a 12/7/365 control room shift pattern ensuring the full utilisation of the team
  • Ensure asset availability is high and in line with contractual obligations
  • Define and develop a robust reporting strategy for the team to ensure consistency, timely issue reporting and accurate windfarm status reporting
  • Compliance with all HSE and Quality legislation, company and any sitespecific requirements by the teams and reporting of any incidents to the PM updating and maintaining relevant systems
  • Manage the O&M budget for your department
  • Work flexibly to provide input into wider offshore wind O&M topics including taking delegated authority on an occasional basis
  • Liaise with the wider Asset Operations directorate to understand and document risks
  • Identify and target areas in which the site and wider business can improve.
  • Ensure training records for the Control Team and wider O&M team are maintained and refreshers organised
  • Take an active part in performance reviews according to HR policy
  • Play an active role in supporting the wider business including but not limited to safety, quality, technical competence, operational excellence, wind farm development, OEM, and client interfaces.
  • Represent, when needed, EDF UK in Asset Operations meetings, tradeshows, conventions.

What do you need to be great at this role?_**You will be qualified to at least HND level (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience) with a commitment to HSEQ, with a good understanding of HSE and Maritime legislation and standards,

  • Strong / proven Control Room experience in offshore wind energy or similar environment is essential
  • Line management experience including the ability to recruit, manage, motivate, and mentor a team
  • Minimum of HND or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline, (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience).
  • Demonstratable knowledge of Statutory requirements for PPE inspections and GWO/Offshore training
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills to allow delivery of tasks in a logical and methodical manner
  • Capable of developing a strong technical understanding of the assets during the handover period and beyond and ability to liaise and work with the commissioning teams
  • Experience of contract specification writing and contract management; preparing and managing budgets
  • Excellent IT skill particularly across Microsoft packages, Asset Management Tools, and desktop IT systems
  • Flexible to travel around the UK to attend events and support other EDF wind farms as required.
  • Excellent (English), oral and written, communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
