Applications are invited for a Senior Researcher, to work in a team with Professor Susan Jebb on a research programme to develop new approaches to manage obesity in people with complex eating behaviours as part of the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre.


The post is embedded in the thriving Health Behaviours team in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (NDPCHS).

The team work on interventions to prevent or treat ill-health by intervening on diet, obesity, and smoking.

We have a strong track record of applied research that can benefit patients and lead to changes in the health system.


The successful applicant will need a PhD/DPhil with post-doctoral research experience in psychology, mental health and/or weight management, a strong scientific track record for your career stage, excellent quantitative skills and sufficient experience of qualitative research to inform intervention development and process analysis.


You will be based in the Radcliffe Primary Care Building or Gibson Building of the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but there may be the opportunity for occasional remote working.

The position is funded by NIHR Oxford University Hospitals Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) until 31st March 2025.
