Responsibilities:


  • Lay and bind building materials, such as brick, structural tile, concrete block, cinder block, glass block, and terracotta block, with mortar and other substances to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, sewers, and other structures.
  • Measure distance from reference points and mark guidelines to lay out work.
  • Mix specified amounts of sand, clay, dirt, or mortar powder with water to form refractory mixtures.
  • Spread mortar on material and/or surfaces using hand tools.
  • Operate power saws to cut materials to specified sizes.
  • Remove excess mortar with trowels and hand tools.
  • Use mason's tools such as levels, trowels, hammers, chisels, and jointers to lay bricks or blocks in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Clean excess mortar from the face of the brick or block using brushes or water.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Brick Mason.
  • Proficient in various masonry techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of different types of bricks and their uses.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow construction plans.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in construction.

Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and materials.
  • Proficient in using hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, jointers, etc.
  • Ability to operate power tools such as saws for cutting materials.
  • Welding skills for joining metal parts if required for the project.
  • Carpentry skills for constructing forms or frames for pouring concrete if required.
  • Knowledge of roofing techniques for installing bricks on roofs if required.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Experience:


  • Bricklaying: 3 years (preferred)
  • Masonry: 3 years (preferred)
