Our client is expanding in the north of England and have ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years.


We are looking for either a Senior level CDM / PD who has some team leading experience or someone already a head of a department but looking for a change in direction and take on a challenge.

The client really would like someone with strong knowledge of the building safety act too.


Salary on offer depends what you can bring to the table, if you can bring on new business, help promote the company brand in the North of this already established Construction consulting practice, the higher the salary.

You will assume responsibility of the CDM team and also cover projects on a regional basis. You will work with internal teams to grow and develop their Construction and CDM proposition.

Core areas of work and accountabilities

  • Build, lead and manage a team of consultants providing riskbased construction solutions and CDM services.
Fulfil the role of Principal Designer/CDM advisor as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 201- Pro-actively managing a portfolio of key Clients requiring construction and CDM support

  • Attend prestart/design team meetings, advising Designers regarding significant risks and preparing Design Risk Registers
  • Prepare Pre-Construction Information, Construction Phase Plans and Health and Safety Files
  • Undertake construction site H&S audits and prepare reports
  • Identify additional work streams and provide fee proposals
  • Fulfil the role of competent health and safety advisor to Clients, both retained and occasional
  • Oversee a suite of KPI's that demonstrate continuing client value and ensure that all contractual obligations are met
  • Commercially astute and possessing the skills needed to organically grow the service offering
  • Strong knowledge of the updated building safety act due to changes in the PD role.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate desirable
  • Principal Designer/CDM accreditations/qualifications preferably APS membership
  • GradIOSH status, preferably CMIOSH, or actively working towards CMIOSH status, with a proven track record of handson safety advice
  • Excellent verbal, written and organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple clients, balancing competing priorities and needs for time and attention
  • Strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility for Client relationships, retention and expansion
  • Strong IT skills. Able to develop and amend documents in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Professional, courteous, responsive and approachable, with distinctive problem solving, analytical and research skills
  • Thorough, with attention to detail
