BACKGROUND TO THE ROLE

The Environmental Planning Team covers a broad range of services including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Ecology, and Hydrology, Geology & Peat.


As part of ITPEnergised team, you will:
- work alongside the aforementioned service lines to provide support in a wide variety of projects
- develop your business communication and commercials skills through personal involvement with 'live' projects and bids, etc.
- explore opportunities to develop both your technical and soft skills through training and on-the-job learning
- have the opportunity to work with colleagues from different disciplines; and
- network with, and learn from, experts and influencers from across the industry


You will join the Graduate Development Programme which has been designed to offer the best possible graduate training and support mechanisms to help guide you through the first two years of your career.

The programme covers a range of aspects and is structured to help you achieve competency/understanding across many aspects of the business and will offer you the chance to join the graduate network within the business, to support peer to peer learning.


We will also endeavour to provide you with exposure to and training/work shadowing in as diverse a cross-section of the business as possible, dependent on workloads and client requirements.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working within a friendly and supporting team, you will help to ensure survey and reporting delivery on time, within budget and to the highest safety standards.

As a key member of the team, you will provide technical and administrative project support including:

- research and literature review
- site survey works (this may sometimes include night-time survey work as required)
- data reporting and digitisation
- planning and organisation of same
- graphics preparation (mainly using GIS) and provision of data/reporting on findings.


While your role will principally be within the EIA team, you will have the opportunity to work with other teams, including Acoustics, Air Quality, Ecology, and Geology, Hydrology & Peat.


PERSON SPECIFICATION
- hold an undergraduate degree in an Environmental Sciences discipline
- be a 'people person' with excellent communication skills
- have an excellent command of written and spoken English, attention to detail, and demonstrable Microsoft Office skills


WORK LOCATION
You will ideally be based in our Edinburgh, Glasgow or London office. We are big believers in flexible working, and we are happy to talk about hybrid working patterns.


You may be asked to attend meetings at our office locations, or travel to clients' offices or sites as project work requires.

This may include international travel, where necessary.


OUTLINE REMUNERATION OFFER

  • Salary: From £23,500 pa (agreed salary to be based on skills and experience)
  • Pension: 5% EE contribution / 5% staff contribution
  • Holidays: 34 days pro rata (including bank holidays and 3 compulsory days over Christmas and New Year)
