As a Database Administrator, you will support the planning and development of our Central Data Hub, as well as troubleshooting database issues for users, ensuring the performance, integrity and security of the database are maintained and improved.


You will be integral in supporting the delivery of Dale Farm's data strategy, including data governance, operational data management, and data quality management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Database design and build.
  • Database performance, integrity and security.
  • Troubleshooting database issues for users.
  • Maintain existing data integrations from internal and external systems and plan implementing the build for new system connections to the database.
  • Understand and keep up to date with developments in new technology and tools.
  • Documentation of database processes.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Dale Farm's data universe.
  • Support the development of a single source of truth for Dale Farm data.

Role Requirements
Essential

  • Minimum of 1 year as an SQL Server DBA
  • Experience in migrating SQL Database workloads
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server principles and best practices
  • A good understanding of other SQL and database related technology e.g. Integration Services, Analysis Services
  • Expertise in SQL Database design, deployment and administration
  • Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining
  • Indepth understanding of SQL Server platforms
  • Experience using Visual Studio for database development
  • Experience of data governance, data stewardship and data quality.
  • Ability to make recommendations on to a business on data ownership and data quality management tasks.
  • Experience in working with large datasets
Desirable

  • Business awareness and understanding of business requirements of IT
  • Experience in understanding business processes.

  • Possess excellent organizational and analytical capabilities
