Donwood Glass has a vacancy for a glass cutter to work on our Night Shift.

The applicant should be able to demonstrate skills and experience in the following areas:

• Technical understanding and operational use of an automatic glass cutting table including the techniques required to load glass to the table using an overhead travelling crane and 'freefall' racks.
• Experience in the use of an overhead travelling crane to offload glass from HGVs that use either inloader frames or a hiab (this skill is advantageous but professional training will be given if not fully experienced in this task).
• Hand cutting of all types of flat glass (including patterned/textured glass) in a busy production environment.

The applicant must also possess a good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety requirements and expectations in a flat glass cutting and handling environment.

In particular, knowledge of correct manual handling techniques with regards to flat glass is essential.

This position is available to start on our Night Shift operations with 4 x 9.5 hour shifts (starting Monday night, ending Friday morning each week).

Our usual working hours are from 8.30pm to 7.00am.

The hourly rate shown includes a Night Shift Allowance.

The successful applicant will also be expected to work overtime as and when required.

£13.89-£14.54 per hour
