Description

The key duties of the role will be to develop therapeutic activities for the patients by setting up Individual/Group activities and discussions on the ward to provide patients with Physical and mental stimulation.

To maintain and protect confidential information relating to patients

To maintain high standards when caring for patients and relatives

To undertake any other duties consistent with the overall role of the post

The key duties of the role will be to develop therapeutic activities for the patients by setting up Individual/Group activities and discussions on the ward to provide patients with Physical and mental stimulation.

Under the supervision of the ward manager the post holder will be expected to:

  • Use specialised creative skills to plan and provide a flexible, patient centred programme of therapeutic activities for individual/groups of patients.
  • Coordinate a designated programme of therapeutic activities provided within the team.
To ensure that a senior member of the team is made aware of any untoward incidents

To attend and participate in ward/department/area meetings


To follow protocols/policies/guidelines that have been developed and agreed by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board for example infection prevention and control, values and behaviours, and health and safety.

To ensure that a safe and supportive ward environment is maintained and to report hazards to the nurse in charge
