Description

MPL is seeking a reliable and meticulous proofreader and sub-editor to join its London-based team under a hybrid work arrangement.


With 2-3 days' work from our office in Euston and the remaining days working from home, the role will involve proofreading and sub-editing web copy for publication on an exciting new family events platform Loopla.

Accuracy-checking of events published on the website and proofreading their descriptions will also form part of the role.


Main responsibilities

  • Editing and proofreading text for online publication
  • Checking articles for grammar, spelling, and formatting errors
  • Ensuring all text adheres to tone of voice and style as outlined in the Company guidelines
  • Sourcing images to accompany articles that fit with brand messaging
  • Factchecking sources and research included in articles
  • Liaising with content writers on article outlines and drafts
  • Performing plagiarism and other content quality checks
  • Ensuring SEO guidelines are followed

Requirements:


  • High English language level
  • Proofreading qualification and experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform meticulous checks
  • Experience with web copy
  • Ability to factcheck, research, and reference sources
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team
  • Proactive work ethic and good organisational skills

Salary:
From £26,000.00 per year
