Little Kingshill Combined School is an successful, exciting, forward-thinking and dynamic school. It is set in the beautiful village of Little Kingshill next to Great Missenden.
The school is a one form entry school from Nursery age to Year 6.
About the role:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Bursar is responsible for the management of the school's finances and human resources under the direction of the Headteacher.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of the school budget in conjunction with the Headteacher. Monitoring the budget throughout the year.
- Preparation and presentation of budgets, monthly reports, etc at appropriate committee meetings e.g. Finance Committee and Governing body.
- Monthly reconciliation of the school's financial position with transaction and summary reports prepared by County, identifying and correcting errors and discrepancies on County's figures.
- Attend termly support services meetings to keep the school and Headteacher updated on County's requirements. To receive latest information and instructions from County departments on budgets, payroll, personnel, suppliers, etc.
- Completion of all financial tasks from the receipt and recording of all income in school, for the main school budget and for the school's private fund accounts, banking, payment of invoices, reconciling bank accounts, preparation of the monthly VAT return and monthly twoway reconciliation for the council's records.
- Annual reporting of School Fund accounts to the Charity Commission, and making gift aid claims on a regular basis. Informing Charity Commission of any changes to trustees.
- Ensure prompt assessment and payment of insurance premiums and administer claims as necessary.
- Prepare regular claims for reimbursement of purchases made on behalf of the Schools PTA (FOLKS) through the school budget.
- Prepare termly external invoices for use of premises.
- Ensure all financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with financial requirements and regulations.
- To keep the equipment register up to date.
- Keep a record of Pupil Premium and Sports Premium Grant spending.
- Ensure that the school maintains compliance with SFVS requirements.
- Nursery funding administration, including monitoring 30 hours funding and issuing invoices.
- To purchase curriculum supplies and services, always ensuring that the school is getting best value for money.
- To be responsible for the renewal of contracts including (but not limited to) photocopiers, broadband, utilities etc.
- Liaise on behalf of the Headteacher, with the Site Supervisor, Bucks CC, and specific contractors regarding maintenance matters associated with the school's sites and buildings.
- You may be required to assist the Caretaker in liaising with suppliers and contractors to obtain quotes for new projects, repairs, etc., and negotiating prices and terms, placing orders and issuing contracts.
- Maintain the school Single Central Record (SCR).
- Maintain Personnel records in SIMs.
- Preparing monthly payroll information for Payroll provider to meet strict deadlines, checking proposed run before payday, entering details onto school's records and reconciling monthly.
- Maintain absence records for staff.
- Oversee the DBS checking process for staff and volunteers.
OFFICE RESPONSIBILITES
- Support the school secretary with tasks at busy times.
- To work with the secretary on administration of schools visits and other educational activities, setting up Parentmail payments, chasing payments etc.
- When the Secretary is not available, receive visitors, answer telephone, assist Headteacher, Governors, teachers, pupils and parents.
- Undertake any reasonable task as requested by the Headteacher.
