We are known in Kent & Medway for our dedicated, independent services that have been supporting the cause with a local focus for many years.


Overall:
We provide an efficient service for families affected by domestic violence and abuse across Kent & Medway.

These families and individuals will have a range of needs, and our client support work is needs-led, risk-focused & trauma-informed with a focus on developing individual resilience.

We work with clients in a range of settings.

We provide group work and all support colleagues are expected to be capable of integrated working in the wider social system.

Colleagues are expected to work flexibly as needed by service demands, this includes evenings and weekends. Where necessary colleagues are also expected to participate in the out-of-hours service, providing an on-call system for the refuge service users (for which enhancements are paid)


Purpose of the role:
To provide administrative support to the fundraising team.

You will be the first point of call for Oasis supporters and will provide excellent customer service to event participants, corporate partners, and volunteer fundraisers.

You will have responsibility for accurate data inputting, income reconciliation, and report generation and will assist with the organisation in fundraising events as required.

In this busy and varied role, you will need to have high attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, strong organisation and communications skills, and be prepared to work flexibly (this will include some evening and weekend work, notice will be provided).

This could be the ideal role for you, if you have transferable skills and are looking for your first paid role in fundraising or the charity sector.


Fundraising Assistant - Kent Based Key Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of the Oasis Domestic Abuse Service colleague team who provide an expert service dedicated to men and women and children exposed to domestic abuse
  • To act as first point of contact for those communicating with the Income and Engagement Team
  • To assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising activities and events within the local community
  • To maintain the online calendar of fundraising events
  • To source raffle and auction prizes
  • To co-ordinate static collecting tins hosted by local outlets
  • To support the activity of third-party fundraisers, including those using online giving platforms, providing the materials necessary to make their ventures successful
  • To attend fundraising events / collections as required
  • To take photographs / gather materials to support our online presence
  • To keep appropriate records of fundraising events and activities from inception to completion
  • To maintain systems for donor care and development, ensuring that donors and volunteer fundraisers are thanked, appreciated and feel involved in the organisation
  • To keep comprehensive, timely and accurate records, using Donorfy (fundraising database)
  • To create and send thank you letters to donors
  • To undertake other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Senior Management Team
  • To maintain a confidential, sensitive and discreet approach to personal, sensitive and organisational information.
  • To undertake any appropriate work as delegated by the Head of Income & Engagement and assist with administrative support as required
  • To comply with data protection requirements and Fundraising Regulator guidance - including the Fundraising Code of Practice.
  • To undertake training and attend internal team meetings based in Thanet and external events as required.
