Position Summary


Nestlé Product Technology Centre - Confectionery (NPTC) are currently recruiting for an experienced Product Experience Insight Associate Specialist to join the team at our York offices.

This is a fantastic opportunity that would see you provide expert sensory and consumer knowledge at a local and global level, specifically working in collaboration with Markets, Zones and Nestlé's Confectionery Strategic Business Unit based in Switzerland.

The focus of this role being to ensure our innovation and renovation agenda meets consumer expectations and our business strategy for the long term.

A day in the life of a Product Experience Insight Associate Specialist**Product Experience Insight Associate Specialist, you will be responsible for constantly seeking to improve consumer and sensory insight best practices, promoting the use of sensory and consumer research across all areas of innovation and renovation.

Having a consumer centric mindset, other key skills include:


  • Working in collaboration with the business and NPTC to define what consumer knowledge is needed, benefit territory and technical solutions in the context of the strategic business opportunity.
  • Act as a key business partner helping to define questions and outcomes from consumers and sensory insight support, adding value to influence project successes.
  • Manage and execute consumer and sensory studies with excellence, playing an active part in cross functional project teams by providing guidance on the use and choice of sensory evaluation and consumer methodologies.
  • Manage studies from planning and design through to analysis, reporting and the presentation of results in line with best practices and expectations.
  • Support high quality results through panel maintenance and performance e.g. panel performance KPI's.
  • Working in close collaboration with external agencies to deliver flawless execution.
  • Define, deliver, and maintain consumer sensory insight methods, ensuring the adoption of 60/40+ tests, In/Out specifications etc.
  • Be a lighthouse for Nestlé when building new, disruptive techniques within sensory and methods always focused on continuous improvement.

What will make you successful?

  • Have experience of leading sensory laboratory activities (sensory panels, technicians, etc) as well as working with sensory agencies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of qualitive and quantities consumer testing focused on preference mapping methodology and the 60/40 technique.
  • Have great collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Have fantastic storytelling and analytical skills.
  • Be developed in identify and translating insight into meaningful innovation and renovation
  • Be able to run sizable projects and work streams ideally across multimarket.
  • Demonstrate a pragmatic approach with the ability to operate and execute at pace.
  • Ideally have experience in consumerpackaged goods in an R&D capacity.
  • Ideally have experience of working in an operation's and/or commercial environment.
