VHR wishes to recruit a Credit and Cost Controller to work directly for VHR and based at our central London headquarters situated in Bermondsey.


VHR is a multi award winning technical recruitment company headquartered in London supplying contact and permanent technical and professional staff to our clients within the Aerospace & Aviation, F1 & Motorsport, Engineering & Manufacturing, Marine, Civils& Infrastructure, Renewables & Energy, Defence & Security and Technology sectors.

VHR currently employs 35 members of staff across its 6 offices in London, Manchester, Abu Dhabi, Bologna, Prague and Nicosia and generates a turnover of approaching £20M annually.


ROLE DESCRIPTION
As the Credit & Cost Control Executive for VHR you will be responsible for;
1) Management of seven (7) UK and international ledgers totalling £3M in receivables (£5M pre

  • Covid)
2) Proactive collections against large volumes of open invoices in multiple currencies including GBP, USD, Euros, CZK and AED

3) Decision maker for credit terms provided to new and existing customers

4) Management of customer balances to minimise bad and doubtful debts

5) Management of legal processes for debt collection where required

6) Management of suppliers and negotiation of most favourable terms

7) Analysing VHR's costs on a monthly basis, and making recommendations for cost / efficiency savings.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Managing and maintaining seven (7) ledgers totalling circa 80 client accounts.
  • Checking customers' credit ratings using Coface, Experian tools and Credit Insurance models
  • Management of relationship with our credit insurers to ensure we comply with the terms of the insurance.
  • Cash Flow management across the group of VHR Companies
  • Manage the relationship with our CID / Factoring provider
  • Secure new Factoring / CID facilities as required
  • Liaise with customers to ensure receipt of all invoices
  • Agree payment dates with customers for open invoices
  • Match customer payments against open invoices on the Company's accounting software
  • Submit weekly statements of account to all debtors
  • Reconcile creditors report to ensure all open invoices are submitted to the customer
  • Reconcile hard copy records with the Company's accounting software electronic records
  • Populate Company's contact database with customer Accounts Payable staff details
  • Recording of customer communication on the Company's contact database
  • Liaise with the relevant Company Account Managers and Directors in the event of persistent customer late payment
  • Identify and advise Management when a customers debt position necessitates the witholding of VHR's services
  • Manage legal process to recover debts where necessary with support from Company Directors
  • Liaise with the Company's Invoice Discounting service provider where required
  • Management Information reporting and maintenance of Excel models
  • Produce and analyse reports, making recommendations or highlighting areas for improvement. Problem solving for a wide range of issues.
  • Analyse VHR's spending on a monthly basis, making recommendations for cost savings
  • Negotiate with existing and new suppliers to achieve cost savings
  • Identify least cost/best value suppliers for new purchases
