Summary of the Role_

A key administrative post with critical importance for supporting the academic work of the School. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and supporting electronic academic systems throughout the School.

The post holder will also provide administrative support to the Deputy Head, members of the Senior Leadership Team and other academic staff as directed by the Deputy Head.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:_

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact;
  • Maintaining and developing the use of the School's academic management information systems, including data input and analysis and the preparation of management reports for academic staff;
  • Providing support for the School's academic reporting procedures from design, setup and maintenance, through to final printing and production ready to publish to stakeholders;
  • Producing, analysing and evaluating academic data, e.g. internal and external examination results; and baseline predictive data;
  • Producing and maintaining the School's weekly, termly and annual offline and online calendars,
  • Maintaining and updating the Staff Handbook at the direction of the Deputy Head;
  • Updating and revising School policy documents at the direction of the Deputy Head;
  • Updating and producing the School's Development Strategy Document;
  • Maintaining external contact with key regulatory bodies and updating Senior Leaders as appropriate;
  • Attending meetings and taking minutes as directed, primarily supporting the work of the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Academic Departments;
  • Establishing and maintaining effective systems and processes in order to contribute towards the smooth running of the School;
  • Producing curriculum documentation for stakeholders;
  • Providing secretarial support for the Deputy Head and other Senior Leaders as required;
  • Providing administrative support for regular events within the School;
  • Preparing and responding to routine correspondence and enquiries, including the preparation of letters to parents/carers;
  • Taking ownership of various projects to meet the needs of the School, in order to achieve School goals;
You may also be required to undertake such other comparable duties as the Head requires from time to time.

Qualifications_

  • Essential:_
  • GCSE, or equivalent, Mathematics and English at Grade C or above
  • Desirable:_
  • Honours Degree in a suitable discipline

Experience_

  • Essential:_
  • Experience of running effective administrative and clerical systems
  • Experience of working with management information systems or databases
  • Experience of working is a support function
  • Experience of working with people
  • Desirable:_
  • Working in an educational setting

Knowledge_

  • Essential:_
  • Excellent working knowledge of management information systems and/or database functions
  • Desirable:_
  • Working expertise of an organisational management information system, preferably iSAMS or an equivalent system such as SIMS or PASS
